Maple Plant Stand

Create one-of-a-kind plant pots as you explore white cement and large-scale molds, allowing for lots of creativity with color. Christie Lothrop, the artist and green thumb behind MadPotters, teaches marbling and layering techniques, how to work with molds, and finishing techniques to create unique pots and trays. This thoughtfully curated kit has everything needed to create several different plant pots and trays, including high-quality molds and pigment powders along with plenty of white cement mix.

This workshop includes: 

• A complete hand-poured cement kit with materials to make four large pots
• A detailed digital workshop led by Christie Lothrop

The specialty tools and materials in our cement planter kit include:

• Large square pot mold, ~4.7 x 4.7 x 4,7"
• Large circular pot mold, ~5.9 x 4.7"
• Large rectangular pot mold, ~7.5 x 3.9 x 3.5"
• Large circular spiral tray mold, ~9.8" diameter
• Pigment powders, 25g each of: azure, fern, crimson, goldenrod, and papaya
• White cement concrete mix, 12 lbs
• Four pairs nitrile gloves
• Sandpaper, 100 grit and 80 grit
• Disposable face mask
• Five mixing containers, 3.5 cups each
• Five wooden tongue depressors
• Five mixing knives
• Two plastic drop cloths
• Round tub, 80oz
• Two plastic cups, 16oz each

Experiment with shapes, colors, and molds in your plant pots with six pounds of white cement mix. This is an add-on for the Terrazzo Bookends and Colorful Hand-Poured Cement Workshop with Christie Lothrop, which focuses on custom cement mold curing. When compared to the gray cement mix used in Christie’s previous Hand-Poured Cement Workshop, this white cement is not fast-curing, meaning the work time is more relaxed.  In addition, marbled and pigmented colors will have more vivid results.
