Indian Rosewood Yarn Bowl
$36
We received an amazing response for the gorgeous hand-turned wooden yarn bowl featured in many photos for our Punch Needle Workshop. These yarn bowls nestle a ball of yarn to keep it from rolling away as you punch (or knit, or crochet) and feed a continuous thread of yarn through a carved notch in the side of the bowl so that you’re never without slack. We were so happily surprised with the support of this bowl that we reached out to the co-op that had these made to bring the bowl to our membership.
Each bowl is handcrafted from Sheesham wood by artisans in India, each is built in collaboration with Darn Good Yarn, a fiber source for ethically sourced goods. Each bowl is shaped by hand and then hand sanded and stained. To the left are several pictures of the men and women that are members of the co-op that build the bowls. Purchasing a handmade wooden yarn bowl touches the lives of an entire village and makes a real difference in the lives of many.
We love these for keeping our WIP projects tangle-free and for keeping stray needle punch or knitting yarn from rolling off the table as a ball of yarn is continuously tugged on for work. Happy, happy making.
