The Crafter’s Retreat is an in-person event that gives makers of all levels the opportunity to disconnect from daily life, dive into the art of slow crafting, and handcraft beautiful projects from start to finish.
Over 250 crafters will meet, mingle with, and learn from talented artists in various mediums. Workshops range from fiber art to wood carving to wax resist—there is something new for everyone.
Outside of our creative time together, we're hosting special events to enjoy, including: sunrise yoga, a Saturday evening happy hour, community dinner meet-ups and special sponsored surprises.
Join us for three days of making in sunny San Diego, California. Tickets include your choice of three premium workshops, a selection of 'make & take' crafts and a beautiful Sunday morning progressive or 'built in stages' project. Enjoy our full retreat experience with community activities such as yoga, a hosted happy hour, and group dinners while making new friends in person.

Sign up for digital access to a half day (or multiple half days) to some of our most popular workshops. We'll ship you a kit of the tools & materials needed (a kit to keep forever) and provide digital access to our instructors on Saturday, 5/11. Each half day ticket also includes an asynchronous make & take to enjoy at home.

Join us for a weekend full of slow crafting, reconnecting with your creative spirit, and making memories. Expert makers and instructors will lead attendees in artisan-level craft workshops, and you'll take home three beautiful, premium, and fully complete projects. These workshops are subject to change. Natural Dye Batik
Learn the art of traditional Indonesian batik that involves wax-resist dyeing on fabric. Use hot wax to create intricate patterns on the cloth, then dye the fabric resulting in vibrant and detailed designs.
Enamel Art
This gorgeous technique is used to decorate objects with vibrant enamels. The process involves using powdered enamel pigments and torch firing for a beautiful and glossy finish.
Darning Loom Weaving
Learn the intricacies of warping and weaving on a darning loom. You'll create intricate woven designs using high quality yarns and fibers that can be used for functional items.
Knotted Rug Weaving
Embrace the artistry of knotted rug making as you weave together the perfect combination of colors and textures, transforming raw materials and a custom loom into a masterpiece that adds warmth and character to any environment.
Beading & Metalwork
Create beautiful shapes using delicate miyuki beads and precious metal craft wire. The finished project will result in an exquisite and wearable modern broach.
Chip Carving
Use small chisels and knives to create intricate geometric patterns by removing chips of wood from the surface, resulting in finely carved and embellished wooden objects.
Soap Making
Combining ingredients and add scents and colors to create a personalized and aromatic soap bars suitable for cleansing and nourishing the skin.
Poured Ocean Resin
Thoughtfully pour layers of colored epoxy resin onto a surface to create ocean-inspired artworks and add elements like shells or sand for texture, creating visually captivating pieces.
We're offering two Make & Take bundles to choose from for an even larger selection of crafting to explore. Our sessions this year will be offered in a pre-assigned three hour chunk, most makers will be able to successfully complete 3-4 of their favorite crafts in that session. These sessions are subject to change. Psst we know this is a bit of a different structure than last year but we're confident it will offer a better overall crafter experience! We can't wait for you to make with us.

Sunday morning mimosas & making includes a delicious selection of bakery breakfast bites and custom drinks! Let's sip and craft and make some more.

The Crafter’s Retreat 2024 will take place in downtown San Diego, California overlooking the water. Workshops will be located at The Lane within the SpringHill Suites by Marriott. These two buildings are connected, making it simple and easy to get from one workshop to the next.
Room Reservations: We have secured a room block at the Marriott SpringHill Suites San Diego Downtown/Bayfront for Friday, 5/10 - Sunday 5/12 for $269 - $299 per night.
