JESS PICKERING
FRAMED TEXTURED WEAVING
Discover the art of weaving and create a beautifully textured art piece in this Textured Frame Weaving Workshop. You’ll handcraft your own chunky, organic weaving while exploring different textures using macrame cord, roving, fabric, and yarn as you weave. Jess will guide you through the basics of warping and weaving on a frame loom with a variety of gorgeous fibers and will walk through weaving techniques such as tabby stitches and rya loops.

“I love the versatility of fiber. There are so many variations that fiber offers,” shares Jess. “It’s a huge craft that allows for so much exploration.” Jess’ kit has been thoughtfully curated to provide multiple fibers, in the colorway of your choice, perfect for weaving your own framed tapestry. Each fiber bundle not only showcases gorgeous and eye-catching colors but it also represents the best fabric types for weaving.
Jess truly enjoys the relaxing process of weaving various fibers through warp string and hopes you will appreciate the same enjoyment and peace as you weave your very own textured frame tapestry.
At the end of this workshop, you will have created an elegant piece of art for your home that expresses your unique personality and adds character to any room.

More About our Artist: Jess Pickering
In 2020, Jess quit her job working for the Department of Defense in order to pursue her passion of fiber art. Through her artistic creations, she aims to inspire and encourage others to embrace their creative sides. Her warm and nurturing approach creates an inviting space for individuals to explore their creativity, discover new techniques, and unwind in the process.
“I love the versatility of fiber. There are so many variations that fiber offers…knitting, crocheting, tufting, embroidery, macrame, weaving, hand-dying fibers, etc. It’s a huge craft that allows for so much exploration. My grandma taught me how to knit and my great aunt taught me how to crochet, both at a young age. It’s something that I always come back to.” - Jess Pickering
By spreading her love for fiber arts, she continues to make a positive impact in both the creative community and the lives of those she encounters. Outside of her artistic pursuits, Jess finds solace in the picturesque landscapes of San Diego, where she lives with her partner, three cats, and one dog.
