PIN LOOM WEAVING
Amanda shares with us an introduction to pin loom weaving to create a woven project tote from start to finish. Pin loom weaving offers the opportunity to quickly weave up tiny squares that can be assembled together into larger textiles and objects. This versatile loom is a relatively newer innovation in weaving history -- introduced in the 1930s, the swiftness of weaving up larger objects with smaller ‘bite-sized’ squares likens itself to crocheted granny squares that come together to create a much larger textile.
In this workshop, Amanda is teaching how to weave on the bias. Unique to pin looms, the same single piece of yarn can be used for both the warp and weft. This project highlights two-tone color block geometric designs but once mastered, enjoy the creativity a pin loom brings. What makes this loom special is that we’ve designed it to move the tiny metal pins around to meet your unique specifications -- adjust the pins to create a square, rectangle or even the handles of our project tote. You’ll enjoy the customized fun of today’s project and many in the future.

Pin Loom Weaving Blanket Kit
$58
Weave a geometric heathered wool throw blanket with your new pin loom. This add-on includes ten skeins of Lana yarn in one of six colorways (Winter Solstice shown in image) as well as a pattern by our artist. The pattern is for our upgraded larger pin loom, which we highly recommend for a project of this size, but it isn't necessary. Lean into a cozy project this season and play with pattern and shapes to make a functional, beautiful blanket for your living room.
