In our Modern Paper Quilling Workshop, Zahra introduces a variety of paper art techniques that coil smooth paper strips to create beautiful designs. A unique technique that we consider ‘phase 2’ of this workshop involves first crimping paper to create texture. Zahra shares with us one of her favorite tools for just this job.
Create fine or coarse crimped paper strips with a paper tool that ‘turns’ strips of paper through its crimping teeth. This tool automates a process that can be replicated by hand. This tool has a large, see-through turning handle making it easy to see your paper as it crimps. Works with quilling paper up to 3/8″ (9mm).
