CRAFTER KIDS
CHUNKY SCARF KNITTING
Join us for a cozy and creative workshop where makers will learn how to knit their very own soft, chunky knit scarf from start to finish. This workshop is ideal for a brand new knitter, but whether you're a complete beginner or have some knitting experience, this class is designed to guide you through each step of the process, from casting on to finishing your scarf with fringe. Using thick, plush yarn and oversized needles, makers will quickly see their project come to life, creating a cozy piece that will keep you warm all season long. Students will also learn essential knitting techniques, including the basic knit stitch, how to read patterns.
Fun Facts
- The yarn in this workshop is considered a ‘super bulky’ which is a size 6 in a traditional yarn weight scale.
- It’s SUPER soft because it’s made of a wonderful material called Merino wool. Merino wool is incredibly special because it comes from Merino sheep, a breed known for their fine, soft fleece. What makes Merino wool stand out is its exceptional softness and warmth, even when it's lightweight. The fibers are finer and more flexible than regular wool, which means Merino feels much softer against the skin, making it perfect for everything from cozy sweaters to luxury scarves.
